What this tool does
Encode text or a link into a QR image. The pattern contains the supplied text directly and does not rely on a btools redirect.
How to use it
- Enter the text or URL to encode.
- Adjust the visual settings and image size. Add an optional center image only if the code still scans at the size you will use.
- Preview and download the QR code. Test it with a phone before printing or publishing.
Understand the controls
- Contrast and quiet zone
- A dark pattern on a light background with a clear border is easiest for scanners to read.
- Center image
- A logo hides some modules. Error correction helps, but a large logo or small printed code can still fail to scan.
Example
For a poster, use a large output size, a light background and a short destination URL. Scan a printed proof at normal viewing distance.
Files and limits
The encoded text is embedded in the QR pattern. A QR code cannot display a private image on its own without an image URL or another storage location.
Frequently asked questions
Do the codes expire?
Never. The content is encoded directly into the pattern, with no short link and no account behind it, so the code keeps working for as long as the pattern is readable.
Can I put my logo in the middle?
Yes. Choose the Image tab and upload a picture. Error correction is automatically raised to level H so the code still scans with part of it covered. Keep the logo under about a quarter of the width.
Can a QR code show an image on its own?
Not offline. That needs a server to store the picture and hand it out when someone scans — and btools never uploads your files. The Image tab therefore puts your picture in the centre of the code while the code itself carries a link or text.
Which settings should I use for print?
Pick 2048 px, keep the quiet zone at four modules or more, and leave the background light with a dark foreground. Square dots scan the most reliably; rounded and dotted styles are cosmetic.
