Decode an image from Base64
Decode Base64 or a data URI into an image file. Processing stays in your browser.

Preview and export
Your decoded image will appear here.
Paste an encoded image from an API response, CSS data URI or document. The image is decoded locally. JPG export places transparent pixels on white; PNG and WebP can retain alpha. Animated GIFs export their first frame.
What this tool does
Turn encoded image data back into a file you can inspect and save. This is useful for image strings copied from an API response, an HTML data URI or a stylesheet.
How to use it
- Paste raw Base64 text or a data:image/...;base64 URI into the input.
- Convert it and check the preview before saving.
- Choose PNG, JPG or WebP. Adjust quality for JPG or WebP, then download the result.
Understand the controls
- Input validation
- The tool checks the decoded file signature instead of trusting the MIME label in a data URI. Unsafe SVG content is rejected.
- Export format
- PNG and WebP can keep alpha. JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels are placed on white when converting.
Example
If an API returns a data URI, paste the entire value, including the data:image prefix. You do not need to remove it first.
Files and limits
Input text is limited to 16 MB. Decoded images may be up to 8192 px per edge and 32 million pixels. Animated GIFs export their first frame.
