What this tool does

Divide one image into rows, columns or a two-dimensional grid. Each piece is previewed with its exact dimensions before you export it.

How to use it

  1. Choose an image, then select Rows, Columns or Grid.
  2. Choose Number of pieces for even divisions, or Pixel size for a fixed tile width and/or height. Enable shared pixels if neighboring pieces must overlap.
  3. Check the preview, download one PNG, or download every numbered PNG in a ZIP.

Understand the controls

Count versus pixel size
Count divides each selected axis as evenly as whole pixels allow. Pixel size repeats the requested dimensions; a piece at the far edge can be smaller.
Overlap
In count mode, interior pieces extend into the next section by the chosen number of pixels. In pixel-size mode, each new piece starts before the previous piece ends.

Example

For a 3 × 3 social grid, choose Grid, Number of pieces, then enter 3 rows and 3 columns. For print trimming, add a small overlap and verify the edge pieces.

Files and limits

Up to 100 pieces and 200 px overlap. One input file up to 15 MB, 8192 px per edge and 32 million pixels. GIF uses its first frame; pieces export as PNG.
